Another year in Vegas- lost money, gained some great memories! We’re taking a break from blogging about our Europe trip this week because we just got back from a week-long trip to Vegas for the annual WPPI Conference and Trade Show. Photographers- shoot me an email or comment below with what you’d like to know about the trade show/our experiences there/what to prepare for, etc. I’ll be sure to do a post on all those goodies soon!
While we were there, Maika and I celebrated our
HELLO MONDAY!! Where have the days gone?!
I just landed in Hawaii yesterday and it feels like the traveling never ends… which I kind of love! Maika and I just recently returned from a week in Las Vegas, where we attended the annual WPPI (Wedding and Portrait Photographers) trade show and conference. We have attended every year for the past 3 years and I feel like it always leaves me feeling refreshed and re-energized to attack the next wedding season. I also love going because it gives us a
When packing for our trip to Europe, I begged Maika to let me bring my film camera but he absolutely refused. With as much traveling as we were going to be doing and the fear I placed in him about pickpockets (oops!), he didn’t feel safe carrying more than one camera. So, we compromised and I brought my Canon 5D mark iii along with a little point and shoot for lighter travel. I told him that from now on though, I’ll be bringing my Contax everywhere- I’m still kicking myself
We’re taking a break this week from all the photos to give those of you who might be planning a trip to Europe some useful travel tips and resources that we gathered along the way. I had previously been to Europe, but on a trip organized for students. All I had to do was be ready to go at the time the tour bus said we had to meet and they took care of the rest. It was great! But for our honeymoon, I wanted the freedom to go wherever and do whatever we wanted. Easier said than done,
By far, one of our most favorite places we visited in Europe was Versailles. I had no idea we would love it as much as we did, but it was a place Maika and I will remember forever. First, we travelled by train (Eurostar) from the London St Pancras International Station to the Paris Gare du Nord Station and it was such a smooth, relaxing ride. We booked most of our train tickets online prior to the trip and next week I’ll share some of our tips for how we booked all our hotels,
We have some exciting news- we recently found out that we won Wedding Wire’s 2015 Couples’ Choice Award for Wedding Photography! Woo-hoo! (Imagine me throwing confetti here!)
We are so grateful to our amazingly sweet couples for their kind words and are very excited for what this next year has in store. We are busier than ever and can’t wait to celebrate and capture the weddings of all our 2015 brides!
Day 1 in London was an amazing start to our trip, but we still had so much more to see! The first half of our trip was pretty fast-paced because there were a lot of places we were planning to get to. A couple future honeymooners emailed me over the past week about what other places we went to while we were in Europe, so I’ll do a really quick breakdown of the cities we visited in this post, which will also be a nice little preview of what’s to come over the next few months.
I’ve been a bit M.I.A. here on the blog, but that’s just because we’ve been traveling like mad this past year and I have been loving every bit of it! While we took many great trips in 2014, I thought I’d start off this Travel Tuesdays series with our biggest trip EVER… our European Honeymoon!
Yes, it was 3 years late, but I am so glad we waited! Having that extra time to save money allowed us to really experience Europe the way we wanted to. We didn’t feel the
